Guests are enjoying the fun, delicious food and intrigue at this Mystery Party.
|
In this episode host Jeanne Benedict helps Stan and Elaine throw a classic "Mystery Dinner Party" for their friends. The plan is to transform their undecorated basement into a dark, mysterious dining parlor. First, Jeanne and Elaine make an invitation-script holder for guests. They give the binders an old, leather look by covering the binders with weathered ultra-suede. These are sent to the guests and include party and character information. Next up Jeanne and Stan create three-dimensional "self" portraits to hang on the walls. Then Stan and Jeanne get cooking, prepping the food for the party. Dishes include Prosciutto Wrapped Shrimp Stuffed with Pesto, Asparagus Spears in Puff Pastry for appetizers and Globe Grapes Stuffed with Goat Cheese top a mixed green salad.
For the entree Roasted Vegetables and Chicken. Just before the party Jeanne and Elaine hang burgundy sheets on the walls of the basement along with the self-portraits. They add a rented circular table, chairs and place settings that we rented from a party supply company. Stan and Elaine slip into their costumes for the party and all the guests show up dressed for each of their parts. Before they are seated Elaine's necklace is stolen. So as they dine on the food everyone reads their scripts and follow the clues to try to figure out who done it?
