Project designed by Mischelle Smith. Materials: paper clay acrylic mount craft knife cookie cutter black permanent ink multicolored stamp pads* sandpaper pigment inks acrylic sealer embroidery floss glue rubber stamps - The Angel Company hanger - optional small drill with bits - optional *Mischelle uses Petal Point Pigment Option Pads, which work well for these types of frames. Steps: 1. Roll out the clay. Place a large acrylic mount gently on top of the clay. This will be the pattern and ruler. Using a craft knife, cut out along all four sides (figure A). Remove and mount any excess clay. 2. Cut out a center for the frame with a cookie cutter (figure B). If desired, use a toothpick to poke holes through the frame if you will be connecting this frame with others.** 3. Using black permanent ink, stamp images on the wet clay in a collage format (figure C). 4. Bake according to the directions. Let cool. 5. When the clay is dry, sand the frame thoroughly. 6. Using pigment inks, begin rubbing the color from the pad onto the frame until you have achieved the desired look (figure D). 7. Let the frame dry and then spray with a sealer. **Optional: 8. If you didn't poke holes earlier but later want to attach this frame to others, use a small drill to gently drill holes through each frame. 9. Using embroidery floss, tie the frames together. Glue down the ends of the floss and let dry. 11. If desired, glue a hanger onto the back of the frame.
