    The fact that the bathroom was located on the front of the ranch-style house made privacy an important issue. Nancy Golden's solution: Roman shades made from the print fabric and trimmed with luxurious tassels (figure A). Golden firmly believes that trim is one place where you should never skimp when you're decorating -- an inexpensive piece of fabric can look like a million dollars with the right trim.

    A second place where privacy mattered was the area in which the toilet was situated (figure B). The addition of a portiere on a swing-arm curtain rod (figure C) solved the problem -- and enabled the designer to bring the fabric into another section of the room.
