    Materials:

    Two 8" tall lampshades
    Four 4" tall lampshades
    Pompon trim
Assorted colors of acrylic craft paint and spray paint
    Plastic pit balls
    Small plastic foam balls
PVC pipe in various lengths -- including two 18", two 6", four 3", four 12"
    Two four-way PVC connectors
    2 large terra-cotta planters
    4 small terra-cotta planters
    Blocks of dry floral foam
    Cloth ribbon in assorted colors

    1. Paint the two 8" lampshades in different color stripes (figure A).

    2. Paint pieces of PVC pipe and then wrap ribbon around them to decorate. Place a PVC connector on the taller piece and then insert the shorter pieces on each side. Glue small painted plastic foam balls on the 2 shorter ends (figure B).

    3. The pipes will be placed in terra-cotta pots. Place dry floral foam in the terra-cotta pots and trim them down even with the top of the pot. (figure C).

    4. Push the finished PVC pipes into the middle of the foam. Tuck some fabric around the top of the pot to cover the floral foam (figure D).

    5. Decorate the edges of the large lampshades with pompon trim (figure E).

    6. Hot-glue the shade to the top of the PVC pipe.

    7. Use the same color scheme that you used for the invitations for the 4 smaller lampshades. Instead of pompon trim, you can use decorative trim on these (figure F).
