    Materials:

    Books, bowls and boxes
    Stones and rocks
    Slate
    Votive candles
    Bamboo place mats
    Serving plates
    Fresh orchids
    Bamboo stalks
2 pieces material in earth tones

    1. We used 2 pieces of fabric to cover up the bar area. Place the fountain in the center. Use boxes and books as risers underneath the fabric (figure A) to build up areas of the buffet. The bamboo mats are placed around the front edge of the bar/table and add texture.

    2. Add the slate pieces on top of the risers and that is where the bowls will go (figure B). We used wooden bowls and platters.

    3. Once you have figured out where the main dishes will go, add some decorative touches. Add heights in the dead spaces of the buffet by adding orchids (figure C) etc. We also used some bamboo (figure D) and just added it to small cups, etc. filled with stones. Place votive and pillar candles all around.

    4. It is important to take a look at the buffet from afar to help you gain a good perspective as to what your overall look is achieving (figure E ).

Cheryl Evanoff , VP, Regal Rents says, "When you are planning a party in your home, you want to keep your buffet away from highly trafficked or congregated areas so that your guests have easy access to get to the buffet and move around."
