Paul's Drunken Chicken and Vicki's Sauteed Kale

    Recipe courtesy Paul James.

    Ingredients:

    1 whole chicken, any size
    Salt and pepper to taste
    Garlic powder to taste
    3/4 cup olive oil
1 tall can of your favorite beer, 3/4 full

    Preparation:

Coat the outside of the chicken with 3/4 cup olive oil. Season the inside and outside with salt and pepper and garlic powder to taste. Place chicken, large cavity end, over can of beer. Be sure to use the tall canned beer, as the 12 ounce cans do not work as well. Place chicken and beer on an aluminum pie plate. Place the pie plate on medium to high grill. Cover and cook until done, depending on the size of the chicken used and the temperature of your grill.

Be careful when removing chicken from the beer can, as the can will be very hot. Place chicken on serving plate.
