Strawberry, Red Wine and Thyme Spoon Sweet

    Ingredients:

    6 cups hulled strawberries
    1 cup sugar
    1/3 cup red wine
    Fresh thyme

    Preparation:

Place strawberries, sugar, wine and thyme to taste in a glass bowl. Mix gently and heat, uncovered, in microwave on high for 35 minutes.

    Serving: 3 cups

    Chef's Notes:

    • In Mediterranean homes, especially in Greece, it's a custom for the host to greet his guests with a glass of water and a small plate containing a little spoon and some homemade preserves

    • This spoon sweet is good served on cake, over ice cream, etc.

    • This needs to be stored in the refrigerator.

    • For a thoughtful gift, place in a jar or bottle and tie with a pretty ribbon.

We at DIY believe all of the recipes from All in Good Taste are accurate and reliable, but since we have not tested them personally, we can claim no responsibility if the desired results are not achieved.
