If your toilet seat is broken or worn out (or if you just want a new one), follow these super-easy tips from repair expert Brad Staggs. - Look at the back of the seat for two small hinged covers, which cover the plastic bolts that hold the seat in place.
- Holding the top of each bolt in place with your fingers, reach underneath and remove nut on bottom by unscrewing it.
- Lift off the lid.
- Reversing the steps, replace the seat with the new one and reattach the bolts to secure it.
Note: When you're buying a new toilet seat, be sure to get one that matches contours of the old one. Otherwise, you can have some big headaches when you go to replace it!
